Hi Everyone,

Since the recent World Championships I have thought long and hard about making some changes to our set up to improve and to some extent rejuvenate. These changes are mainly in the operational side and the reporting to the EPA however there is one change that affects the whole of the squad and I would like to make the following announcement.

With immediate effect Jack Smithers is to take on the Captaincy. Jack is our longest serving player qualifying on a wintery day January 2008 at the age of just 12 making him the youngest ever player to successfully battle through the trial system. Over the years he has attended 21 events representing the England Junior Squad which have included 7 international tournaments, 7 regional friendlies, 3 charity events and 4 individual events such as the World Masters. The International success saw Jack, as part of the selected team, take all 7 team titles: 3 European, 2 World and 2 Anglo. On the national stage Jack has amassed huge success gaining many titles and notable placings including the Kent Youth Open title and Region 7 Ranking Number 1.

This popular character with his bubbly personality is not afraid to speak out and will I am sure become the ‘voice’ of the squad. Jack is a great motivator and one who understands fully the word ‘team’, therefore I ask that you give him your full support.

Finally may I take this opportunity to thank Frank for his efforts over the past 18 months and wish him continued success in the future.

Regards

Judi Collins
