It is with much regret that I inform you that Jim Morris passed away today following a long battle with cancer.

Jim was a stalwart of the Kent County Pool Association for many years and held many positions within the County as both Player and on the administration side.

He moved on to manage England Mens Team for many years and enjoyed huge successes with the team. Picking a team from Twist,Brewer,Kendle,Melling,Morris,Hill,Harrison,Potts,Appleton,Ward,Hunt,Fryer, Hubbard,Rob Hill and the likes it was not easy to keep them all happy but he was respected by all.

On a personal note I met Jim 15 years ago when he brought a young Carl Morris to an exhibition in my local pub where he spotted 2 youngsters a 12 yr old Andrew Woolman and a 9yr old ( Jordan). After 2 weeks coaching they both qualified for the Kent Junior team, and another chapter in the Morris history was born.

We worked on committees together, managed England Teams together and would consider him a personal friend.

I'm sure that you will join me in giving our condolences to Rose,Carl and Kurt at this sad time and wish Jim a good rest!

R.I.P Jim Morris

Yours in Sport
