News Region 6 Classic Pool Event: 5 Man Team
Well done to the Portsmouth Team that achieved Runners-up in the Region 6, 5 Man Team Event.
The team consisted of John Sproates, Matt Paffett, Barrie Turner,James Green,Lee Newman and Steve Parker. On the Saturday they had three matches where they won through easily to the Sunday with 8-1, 8-2 and 8-2 wins.
On Sunday where the real action begins, Portsmouth started with a tough game verses Nottingham, Portsmouth where behind for the hole match until the 15th frame where they clinched the final frame decider.
In the Semi-Final they where paired against a team from London, including the likes of John Sullivon. This was another close game, going to the wire where Portsmouth’s John Sproates and Steve Parker won the deciding frames to sneak an 8-7 win.
In the Final Portsmouth where matched against Ben Flacks Bristol team, where they ran away with an 8-3 win, and a well deserved Victory for the Bristol team.
